Meet the Founder

I wanted to build something that made family life feel more supported.
Something that helped parents carry less alone.
Something that gave nannies, childcare professionals, co-parents, grandparents, and trusted helpers the clarity they need to actually help.
That vision became At Ease Parent.
La Toya McClellan
Founder, At Ease Parent
You don’t have to hold it all alone.

It started with a real parenting problem
The earliest version of this work began with At Ease Baby.
The problem was simple and familiar: parents could leave the house thinking they were prepared, only to realize at the worst possible moment that an essential was missing.
A diaper.
A pacifier.
A change of clothes.
Something small that suddenly made the whole moment feel harder.
That led to a simple question:
What if support was already there when a parent needed it?
The first answer was a network of stocked vending machines designed to give parents quick access to baby and parent essentials while they were away from home.
But solving the emergency raised a bigger question.
What if we could help families feel more prepared before the emergency happened?

The idea became bigger than products
At Ease Baby evolved from emergency access into a more complete system built around preparedness, thoughtful curation, and reducing the mental load of parenting.
And as the vision grew, something became even clearer to me:
Parents are not only carrying products.
They are carrying information.
Schedules.
Preferences.
Reminders.
Pickup plans.
School details.
Care instructions.
The little things everyone else needs to know.
That is where At Ease Parent begins.
Not with the idea that parents need to try harder or become more organized.
With the belief that the plan should not have to live in one person’s head.

Why At Ease Parent Exists
Family care rarely happens through one person alone.
There are co-parents.
Nannies.
Childcare professionals.
Grandparents.
Sitters.
Family members.
Trusted helpers.
And yet, too often, one parent is still expected to remember every detail and explain it every time someone else steps in.
I believe support works better when the information is clear, accessible, and shared.
That is why At Ease Parent is being built as a family-readiness system—not simply another app, checklist, or planner.
The goal is simple:
Parents feel less alone.
The people helping know how to help.
Everyone knows the plan.
The System Matters to Me

A system is not helpful if one person still has to remember everything, update everyone, and answer every question.
A useful system makes the information visible.
It gives the right people access to what they need.
It makes handoffs clearer.
It helps people move together.
That thinking shapes the At Ease Parent Method:
Gather the details.
Share the plan.
Prepare the handoff.
Reset together.
It is a simple approach to one very human problem:
Too much of family life depends on memory.

What I Believe About Support
I do not believe parents need more pressure.
I do not believe families need to perform perfection.
And I do not believe nannies or childcare professionals should be expected to piece together important information from scattered texts, rushed conversations, and last-minute instructions.
I believe:
Parents deserve to feel supported, not judged.
Childcare professionals deserve clear expectations and strong communication.
Trusted helpers deserve to know what they need before they step in.
Family systems should make care easier to share.
Technology should support relationships, not replace them.
Most of all, I believe:
Care feels lighter when it’s shared.
The Next Chapter

At Ease Baby began by helping parents feel prepared for the immediate, practical realities of life with babies—from on-the-go emergencies to postpartum support.
Its original model moved from vending-machine access to curated systems designed to reduce decision fatigue and help parents feel more prepared.
At Ease Parent expands that idea.
Preparedness is not only about what is packed in the bag.
It is also about whether everyone knows:
Who has pickup.
What the routine is.
What changed.
What needs to be packed.
What the nanny should know.
Who the backup person is.
What comes next.
That is family readiness.
And that is the future I am building.

Black Founded. Family Centered. Built with Intention.
This work is rooted in lived experience, cultural understanding, and a commitment to building products and systems that genuinely support families.
The earlier At Ease Baby brand explicitly centered its identity as Black founded, owned, and led, connecting that leadership to care, trust, representation, and community investment.
At Ease Parent carries that same spirit forward.
The goal is not to create a picture of one “right” kind of family.
It is to create practical support for real families and the many people who help care for them.
The future I’m building
I want At Ease Parent to become the place families turn when they need clarity.
The place nannies and childcare professionals turn when they want stronger family partnerships.
The place parents turn when the mental load feels too heavy to keep carrying alone.
Through the app, family-readiness tools, professional childcare resources, seasonal systems, and education, we are building a connected experience around one promise:
You don’t have to hold it all alone.
Every product, resource, feature, and partnership should move us closer to that future.
A note from La Toya
Whether you found At Ease Parent because family life feels full, because you are trying to create a clearer system at home, or because you support families professionally, I am glad you are here.
My hope is that At Ease Parent never feels like another thing you are supposed to manage.
I want it to feel like support.
Like clarity.
Like one less thing you have to keep in your head.
Because the people helping should know the plan.
Because family care was never meant to rest on one person.
And because you deserve to feel held too.
With care,
La Toya McClellan

Held. Clear. Ready.

Continue the journey in the app
The At Ease Parent app helps families keep routines, reminders, schedules, pickup plans, handoff notes, and everyday care details together.
Add the information once, share it with the people helping, and make it easier for everyone to know what comes next.
For nannies and childcare professionals
Families value professionals who provide thoughtful care, communicate clearly, understand the family rhythm, and help transitions feel easier.
At Ease Parent supports nannies and childcare professionals with practical tools for routines, care details, family communication, and clearer handoffs.
We are also creating professional partnership opportunities for people who believe parents and childcare providers work best as one team.
Show up prepared. Communicate clearly. Help families feel supported.
Join the At Ease Community
Join parents, nannies, childcare professionals, and trusted helpers who believe family care feels lighter when the plan is shared.
You will receive practical family-readiness guidance, seasonal tools, professional childcare resources, new products, app updates, and thoughtful support from At Ease Parent.
A little more clarity. A little less to carry.
You do not have to build the whole system today
Choose one area that currently depends on you to remember, explain, or manage.
It might be:
The school morning routine
Pickup arrangements
A nanny handoff
After-school activities
Lunch planning
A weekly reset
A backup-care plan
Gather that information.
Share it with the person who needs it.
Build from there.
A little shared clarity can make the week feel lighter.
